Christina Saunders


Christina Saunders is a Human Rights Officer working with the Anti-Racial Discrimination Section of the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). Since 2014 she has served as the Secretary of the Working Group of experts on people of African descent of the United Nations Human Rights Council. Ms. Saunders has over 20 years’ experience in human rights with the United Nations and other organizations. During her career she has served in different capacities including as Human Rights Adviser to the UN Country Team in Papua New Guinea and with the human rights components of UN peace operations in Sudan and in Afghanistan. Ms. Saunders has a Masters of Law (LLM) specialized in International Human Rights Law from the University of Nottingham.
