Wambua Zacharia Muindi
Zacharia Muindi is a data enthusiast. He has been part of the Map Kibera team since 2009, where he was part of the team of youths from Kibera who created the first digital map of Kibera (Africa’s largest slum) using OpenStreetMap. Over the years he has coordinated several projects for the organization by training youths on how to use free and open digital tools to tell their stories from their own perspective. He has worked on other projects with international organizations such ActionAid to train youths from some of the semi-arid parts of Kenya. Some of the other work that he has been involved in include training of county staff from 3 counties in Kenya on how they can use open mapping tools to track projects that they have implemented and on how they can make the data open to the public to access.
